Subwoofer sensationwith DSP
The most striking advance is the improvement of the subwoofer. Despite a two-thirds reduction in the size of its enclosure, the System 8's sub is the only subwoofer in the world to meet the exacting THX Ultra 2 standards with just one high-performance bass driver. A lengthy development process resulted in the extra long-throw woofer with magnetic shielding which is primarily responsible for the incredible performance of the S 8000 SW. The extremely efficient design allows 500 watts to produce very high levels free from distortion (e.g. 114 dB). Sophisiticated Digital Signal Processing (DSP) fine tunes the sound.
