The Teufel brand
Sound is the essence. How we got there is what makes us special.
Story

Berlin, 1979
The First Step is Easy

Berlin, 1979. A city in transition, full of creative personalities and musical experimentation from New Wave and Punk to Techno. What the rest of the world considered settled law, Berlin put to question. And the same went for the idea that HIFI should be bulky, expensive, and complicated. Our DIY speaker kits stood in firm opposition to that, making great sound easy and affordable.
A new idea. The Teufel brand was born.

1985
Great Sound is just a Click Away

Way back in 1985, before most people had even heard of the Internet, we took our first order by email. And into the present day, online shopping continues to offer our customers many advantages. Test your speakers from the comfort of your home to see how they fit your favorite music genres and room acoustics.

The Loud Old Days
Not everyone can find the free time to build a speaker from a DIY kit. That was why we started offering readymade speakers in 1990. And what speakers they were. The M 200 and M 300 were a loud, brash statement of our competency in the classical stereo speaker field.

1996
Groooaaarrr!

The call of the Tyrannosaurus was never this real before. Because in 1996, Teufel released the Theater 8, Germany’s first THX-certified home cinema system. Even today, Teufel is Europe’s leading producer of THX home cinema systems.

See it, Want it, Buy it
Our website was one of the first in any industry in Germany. And our direct-to-consumer model has many exciting advantages to offer you: an extraordinary price to audio performance ratio, and direct contact with us. That in turn gave us the opportunity to incorporate customer feedback into our new products. Fun fact: we already offered an 8-week return policy back then.

Speakers that
Network

Your Wi-Fi network is a musical wizard. Raumfeld technology made it possible to send lossless audio signals to multiple speakers on the same network, even in different rooms. Teufel acquired the Raumfeld brand and expanded our offer and audio profile. This also marked our entry into the Dutch, Polish, French, and Swedish Markets.

Because We Care

In 2014, we opened our first store in the Bikini Berlin shopping complex, a location once home to West-Berlin nightclub Linientreu, which was frequented by the likes of David Bowie. Our over 800 m² of sales floor is packed full of listening rooms, home theater testing spaces, and everything else from the world of Teufel. Additional stores in Leipzig, Stuttgart, Essen, Cologne, and Vienna were to follow.

Sustainability & social responsibility
What is important to us at Teufel.
As a medium-sized company with over 320 employees, we are conscious of
our social responsibility. We are actively committed to social
engagement, a diverse working culture and the careful use of
environmental resources. Regardless of the issue at hand, we regularly
question our actions and examine how we as a company can become even
better in all areas.
Acting today for a better tomorrow

Teufel has a dedicated team established specifically to address the question of how we can act more sustainably. This cross-division team spans all levels of Teufel's international workforce, voluntarily contributing ideas with a unique energy. They meet regularly to discuss their concepts and present them to management, from where they are independently driven forward by the members of this team. Read more about successfully implemented projects here, and know that this is only the start.

Friends for life
We focus on the quality of our products so that you can enjoy them for a particularly long time.

Materials such as synthetic leather or rugged, impact-resistant plastic guarantee high quality and durability.

Many speakers are disposed of because the seal - the rubber lip around
the edge of the driver cone - loses rigidity after many years of use.
With us, highly flexible rubber allows the good sound to last
significantly longer.

We have been able to reduce our already low return rate by around a
third in recent years. This saves energy and conserves resources.
Inspired by diversity
Because that’s where the best ideas come from. What connects all of us at Teufel is love for great sound and the courage to question the conventional to change things for the better.
- The members of the Teufel family hail from 17 countries.
- Ages range from 20 to 60, which makes for exciting synergies
Who you love doesn't matter to us, we only interested only in passion for great sound.
Living and working in harmony.
No strong community without strong individuals.
We all have different needs in order to do a good job. That's why every employee at Teufel is supported individually.
- We offer flexible working hours and individual parental leave arrangements that are tailored to the everyday lives of our employees so that they can reconcile work and family life.
- If the job description allows, we offer our employees the opportunity to work remotely.
- The fact that we are not only talking about good working conditions, but that these are also appreciated by all Teufel colleagues, is proven by our many years of low turnover.
- And because the best day of the year should not be spent in the office, all Teufel employees have their birthday off.

Stronger together
We want to give something back to the community.
As a company, we not only take responsibility for our employees but also try to make a contribution to the society in which we live.
- Our employees receive one day off per year to participate in social projects.
- We work closely with the Berliner Tafel and actively support the association. Among other things, we have donated over 15,000 euros in the context of a charity run.
- Every year in December we collect clothes for charity.
