Our Berlin-engineered SCA Coaxial Enclosure
Teufel spent two and a half years developing the DEFINION 3's unique flat diaphragm coaxial enclosure. SCA (Synchronized Coaxial Acoustics) technology allows it to act as a single point audio source, ensuring the least possible lag between midwoofer and tweeter.
Nearly all output frequencies reach the listener's ear at exactly the same time, resulting in particularly authentic and natural sound reproduction.
Sound dispersion
Like in the real world, individual sounds are perceived as coming from a single source. Sound is dispersed uniformly for identical audio at various listening positions.
Tweeter and midwoofer
The tweeter and midwoofer are fused together into a single element. This leads to a superior sense of space than can be achieved with a separate tweeter.
Flat diaphragms
Flat diaphragms avoid constricting the tweeter sonically. They vibrate air particles naturally on a single plane, preventing interference and producing more precise sound as a result.

"The Teufel Definion 3F really surprised us. This speaker measures exceptionally well for a product in this class. Especially off-axis, everything holds up remarkably well. Do pair this floorstander with a slightly more agile amplifier, and a model that does not boost the low end too much. In our experience, the Yamaha A-S2200 works well.
All in all, a solid product that – in our opinion – can hold its own well in its class."

"Unlike its big sister with the number five, our test model – the new Definion 3 – doesn’t come with any extra trimmings. Instead, it appears to be cast from a single mold from the seam behind the front plate to the recessed pedestal. The perfect lacquering shows absolutely no imperfections and there is not a single disruptive edge to be found along the entire cabinet.”"The Definion 3 quickly captivates listeners with a pleasantly warm foundational tone and holds them fast. The well-defined bass isn’t lacking power and, while relatively strongly represented, isn’t excessively pronounced. The loudspeaker is equally at home with an orchestra‘s well-defined upright bass as it is with funky slap bass a la Mark King. And instruments with strong transients like bass drums don’t need to fight against flatter sounds, but are able to separate themselves well. A slight depression in the midbass range takes a bit of the thrust away from the sound; it does, however, ensure the good execution of the upper ranges. The tidy fundament is what gives the Definion its warm character. The midrange mostly plays in a linear fashion without drawing attention to itself. In this, the flat membrane does a good job and exhibits an impressively responsive character. Those who love piano and acoustic guitar will be as positively surprised as fans of heavy guitar riffs. The presence range and treble were also played back to our complete satisfaction. The Teufel doesn’t clamor for attention here, but rather successfully defends its claim to clarity and definition. Details were presented openly – each in its proper place.”
